Planning of Images

The images used in a magazine are crucial when appealing to its target audience and trying to make it look ‘attractive’ to the consumer. I plan on using action shots for the entirety of my magazine. This is because the aim for my magazine is for it to be about solely about the music and how it’s made. Therefore I am using photos taken when the artists are performing the songs. Furthermore this should appeal more to my target audience as it shows more emotion and honesty than posed photos.

On my cover I plan on using 3 images, the main image in the centre of the page and two images smaller images on the left of the page to inform the reader what other artists are featured in the magazine. For the main image I plan on going to a fearless vampire killers concert and taking pictures whilst they perform. I aim on getting a mid close up of Laurence (singer) looking directly into the camera whilst singing. I have decided to do a mid close up so that it seems more personal, also so that he can be easily recognised. Furthermore I aim to try and get him to look directly into the camera so that in some sense he is directly addressing the audience and making them feel involved with the magazine.
(however i will use a Substitute photo of someone doing something similar to what i plan as a stand in untill after the concert date.)
